I’ve been in the software business for over 17 years either selling, managing, or living on every global continent. One of my channel representatives recently sold a deal into a research station on the Antarctic Continent so I’ll cross off that one. I have yet to come across a region where the talent is better. For instance, Australia companies face a tough time raising capital and skilled labor causing those firms to relocate to Silicon Valley. As a more specific example, a VP of marketing based on the East Coast created a cookie campaign to entice customers to a product demonstration not truly understanding that content drives interest. Europeans and Asia cultures drive business from the ground floor up selling on features and functions. Perhaps it is because Silicon Valley is the epicenter of High Tech talent, perhaps it is where the VC’s are located…or maybe it is a combination of both.
