Facebook Part II

Yesterday, I posted a blog stating that “add-on” features to social media sites don’t add much value for businesses. I stand corrected, some actually do add value. For instance, a startup known as Four-Square has gained in popularity by letting users declare their whereabouts and earn discounts from nearby businesses. Additional revenue is a solid value proposition!

  1. I think you’re correct Cameron: location based service “add-ons” to social networking sites have the potential to add tremendous value to “consumer” businesses with “retail” presences. As for B-to-B software (such as MindManager), I’m not so sure (certainly at industry “trade shows” where you would have a physical presence I could imagine good uses).
